General McLane’s Model United Nations team at Mercyhurst’s 2015 Conference

McKenah Bryson, Editorial Board

With half of General McLane High School’s first quarter having already passed, many students are now searching for meaningful activities to participate in, providing valuable experiences and enriching future college applications.

Model United Nations is a fantastic club for anyone with an interest in international politics, providing a platform for students to debate and develop resolutions for their particular committees. The first event that our school’s Model UN group will be partaking in is the Gannon Model UN Conference on Nov. 11 and 12, representing Jamaica in six of the seven committees.

For the first time this year, GM’s group, led by Mr. Jenkins, will have the chance to take part in the Historic Security Council, discussing and brainstorming solutions for the worldwide issues that occurred in 1979. Those interested in joining should stop by and see Mr. Jenkins in room 309 or contact him via Schoology.
