Chocolate for Valentine’s Day

It’s February and time to get your sweetheart something for Valentine’s Day.  Every year, people celebrate their love by sending cards, giving flowers, or going out to dinner at a nice restaurant. Many people exchange chocolate.  Fifty-eight million pounds of chocolate are bought during Valentine’s Day week.  Chocolate is one of the most popular gifts of Valentine’s Day.

Interesting Chocolate Facts:

• It takes 400 cocoa beans to make one pound of chocolate

• White chocolate isn’t technically chocolate because it does not contain cocoa solids or cocoa liquor

• Every second, Americans collectively eat 100 pounds of chocolate

• The world’s largest chocolate bar weighed 12,770

• Eating dark chocolate everyday reduces the risk of heart disease by one-third
